FIH's Digital Triumph: Strong Social Media Performance at Paris 2024 Olympics

Tayyab Ikram, President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), lauded the organization's digital success, stating, "The FIH and the sport of hockey delivered an outstanding overall social media performance during the 2024 Paris Olympics. This reflects our continuous efforts to enhance digital services and bring the sport closer to millions of fans. These achievements are truly inspiring. We will spare no effort; I have established a dedicated task force within the FIH, focusing on boosting fan engagement."

 

The FIH's digital strategy encompasses creating content in Hindi and Spanish to attract audiences in key regions. Unlike many federations experiencing a decline in influence, the FIH stands out by enhancing participation. Its innovative approach to content creation and audience outreach has enabled it to connect with fans globally, transcending geographical and cultural barriers.

 

A report reveals a striking contrast in the digital performance of sports federations. While the top five federations by follower count witnessed a 51% drop in engagement, the FIH and other organizations saw a 15% increase. This divergence highlights the effectiveness of the FIH's digital initiatives, proving that through targeted strategies and a commitment to fan - centric content, the organization can thrive in the competitive digital landscape of international sports.
